Cumberland Bands Newsletter – 11/24/20

Hello fabulous band folks!

First and foremost: HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I wish all of you a great bit of family time for this upcoming holiday.

What’s going on?

=== HS/8th band at CMS event on Dec 15th from 5pm-7pm.

Well, we have a couple of things coming up. First of all, we’ve been asked to safely play some seasonal music at the CMS event on Dec 15th from 5pm-7pm. Details to follow on this.

=== All-District Band Auditions

Middle School All-District Band has been cancelled for the 2020-2021 school year. High School All-District Band Auditions will take place virtually in late January. There will not be an event, but there will be virtual auditions and ranking for the purposes of All-Virginia eligibility. I have just been sent the etudes for auditions (which I’ll post asap) and details will be soon forthcoming.

Also, we have a fun little video project (it’s a secret at the moment) I hope to put together for the season.

I know there isn’t much else to report right now, but I did want to say ‘hi!’ and let everyone know that even under the circumstances that the program is alive and well!
