Cumberland Bands Newsletter – 1/21/20

Hello fine band folks!

Congrats to the four students who were named to the VBODA District 3 All-District Honors Band

Michael Ross – 1st HS Band, bassoon
Jack Williamson – 2nd HS Band, trumpet
Dylan Mills – 1st Alternate HS oboe
Valencia Valentin – MS Honors Band, flute

These students did a fine job at auditions. They will prepare a concert with their respective bands that will be performed on February 7 at 3:30pm at Manchester High School.

==HELP FOR WINTER GUARD SHOW==

I need help getting the AIA trailer from Charlottesville HS to Cumberland HS sometime next week. It takes a 2″ ball hitch to pull. Any volunteers would be greatly appreciated.

==WINTER GUARD SHOW ON FEB 1==

We’ll need help from about 8am until 7pm or so to host the AIA Cumberland Winter Guard competition. The event starts at noon and concludes around 5:30pm (-ish). All hands on deck so we can make lots of money on this event!

==ADDITIONAL DATES==

Here are a few more important performance dates for this semester:

Tues, April 7, 2020 – Spring Concert (all MS & HS band classes)
Sat, Late April, 2020 – Patriot Day (HS band, date TBA)
Fri, May 15 – Graduation (HS Band)

MARCHING BAND Spring Mini-Camp will be sometime in early May.
