Cumberland Bands Newsletter – 4/23/19

Hello amazing band folks!

As we wind down this year, it’s time to look at NEXT YEAR!!! Here are some bits of information that should be interesting to everyone:

==8th/HS Band==

Saturday, April 27th – PATRIOT DAY CELEBRATION

10:30 – Be at the Band Room to load the truck and bus
11:00 – Depart for Cumberland Courthouse area
11:30 – Set up on the stage
12:00 – We will perform for about 15 minutes during the program. We do not yet know exactly when that will be within the program
1:00 – Pack up the truck
1:15 – Depart for Band Room
1:30 – Unload truck and dismiss

Because of the time of day this occurs, it would be nice to have some snacks and waters for the kids to have during the event time. I highly recommend a good breakfast beforehand, as the band program isn’t planning a meal for this activity.

If you and your parents want to stay at the event, then this is OK. Just let me know that this is happening.

Friday, May 17th – GRADUATION

The students will stay after school with me. We will set up, rehearse, and eat.

Graduation starts at 7:00pm and should take about an hour or so. We will need to return everything to the band room after the ceremony, so we’re looking at a dismissal time of around 8:30. I will text out a pick-up time via Remind.com on the event day when I know a more exact time.

==MARCHING BAND==

We are purchasing uniforms! Sizing will take place in the course of the next couple of weeks. WE HAVE TO KNOW FOR SURE WHETHER YOU’RE GOING TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMING SEASON’S MARCHING BAND!

SPRING CLINICS

Spring marching band clinics and color guard auditions are as follows:

May 7, 8, 9 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
May 14, 15, 16 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm

SUMMER BAND CAMP

JUNE 24 – 27 – Details to follow!
JULY 29 – AUG 2 – Details to follow!
