Hello Amazing Band Folks!

==WINTER GUARD==

The first competition for the Winter Guard is Feb 9th at E C Glass HS in Lynchburg.

9:00am – Arrive at CMS/CHS for rehearsal
1:30pm – Depart for EC Glass HS, Lynchburg
3:00pm – Arrive at EC Glass HS
5:02pm – PERFORMANCE for Cumberland HS Winter Guard
7:15pm – Awards
8:15pm – (estimated) Depart for Cumberland MS/HS
10:00pm – (est.) Arrive at CMS/CHS, unpack

I will send a Remind.com text when we depart EC Glass HS for a more exact time of arrival back home.

Please make sure your child brings food for lunch and food or money for food at the event. I also recommend traveling snack as we will not have time to eat prior to performance.

Remember, no one goes home until everyone is dismissed after putting everything away.

==CHAPERONING==

Starting this semester, if you wish to chaperone then I will need to have a current copy of your driver’s license on file with this school. This is regardless to whether you have provided a copy prior to now. We have moved to a new system and will need new copies. Please let me know if this includes you. You must complete this process if you want to ride the bus or aid in the process of student activity and competition. Thanks for your understanding with this! 🙂

==DONUT SALES==

Donut sales are in full swing! Please complete your sales efforts and return your orders and money to the band director by this Friday, Feb 8th. Delivery is scheduled for Thursday, Feb 14th. Buy a dozen or two for your sweetheart!

==DISTRICT CONCERT ASSESSMENT==

Concert band assessment — the “SOL test for band” — is at Powhatan HS this year. Both groups will be performing their assessment during the school day on the following schedule:

6th & 7th Grade – Thursday, Feb 28, at 1:00pm.
8th & HS – Friday, March 1, at 1:00pm.
