Cumberland Bands Newsletter – 1/3/19

Happy New Year, amazing band people!

This is the first of two newsletters that will come fairly close together.

ALL-DISTRICT AUDITIONS ARE SATURDAY, JANUARY 5TH.  The bus will need to depart the band room by 6:30am! (this is a departure time change, slightly later than originally planned)  We should be back by around 2pm.  Please either bring money for concessions stand lunch or pack your own food.

WE’RE HOSTING A WINTER GUARD COMPETITION ON JAN 26!

There is a parent meeting at 6:pm on Tuesday, 1/8/19, in the band room. A representative from AIA will be joining us at this time to guide us to making this event as profitable as possible. Please, as many of us as possible should be there to make this event one people will want to return to.

I am going to need a core of parent volunteers willing to make this all happen, and we’ll need to meet once asap.  This can be an amazing fundraiser for the program, as well as bringing the winter activity to Cumberland!

The after-school Jazz/Pep band will start this coming Tuesday, 1/8/19, from 3pm – 5:45pm in the band room. The athletic activity busses are available for use.

I will be posting a winter guard / winter winds calendar for January shortly.
