Well, Happy Holidays, Amazing Band Folks!!!

There’s a blitz of quick information for the upcoming week of events, so pay close attention to the information below:

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 1 – BREAKFAST WITH SANTA

We still need help for an awesome community fundraiser.  Look below and see where you can jump in:

*we will be setting up the night of Nov 30, around 5:30 – all hands on deck!
*ask all your small business friends to donate for our raffle. We will advertise their name and business and their donation is tax deductible 
*we need cookies, candies, brownies, etc donations for cookies by the pound 
*we plan to raffle off cakes and other sweets, so if you bake or know someone who is willing to donate a fancy baked good, please hit them up!
*we need volunteers! Certain stations need to be manned, so your presence will be appreciated
*donations need to be received by Nov 30. 
*we will have a selfie station, so if you have props, selfie stick or anything like that we can borrow, it will be greatly appreciated.
*we will have a craft section, if you have any crafting items you could donate, that would be great. We could also use glue guns (you’ll get those back 😁)
*if you have any other ideas or questions, please feel free to share.

There will likely be a follow-up email later this week in regard to this event.  Please let us know if you can help in some way!

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 2 – FARMVILLE CHRISTMAS PARADE

Band members dress festive! Colors: Red, Green, Black, White.  Comfortable shoes for marching – uniform shoes are good.

12:15p – Arrive at Band Room
12:30p – (or as close to it as possible) Depart for Farmville
1:15p – Arrive in Farmville
2:00p – Parade begins
3:00p – Estimated departure for home
3:30p – Arrive at Band Room

Notes:

1. I NEED CHAPERONES: If you are willing to chaperone, please contact me asap so I can get you on the approved chaperone list!
2. Return times are estimates.  I will be using the Remind.com text on the day of the event to give exact return times.
3. You may pick up your child at the bus in Farmville once we have finished marching.  Please coordinate this with me ahead of time!  No matter what, we will be departing for home as soon as we load up the buses and take attendance — even if the parade isn’t over.  If you have not claimed your child by that time, then you may retrieve them at the CMS/CHS Band Room at the scheduled return time.
   

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4 – Band/Chorus Winter Concert @ 7:pm

All band class members will be performing in this required event.  Your children will stay after school with me, so have them properly outfitted when they come to school (see below for dress expectations).  I will feed them, we will rehearse, and then performances will begin at 7:pm.  The event should last about 30 minutes.

5th grade band student dress – In the letter we sent home, we have said khaki pants and a seasonally bright shirt.  Some folks have asked about dresses, etc, and this is fine.  Just look as fun and festive as possible without looking outlandish or novelty.

ALL OTHER band student dress – Blue band polo and khaki pants.  I have a few shirts left for those few who do not have them.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9 – CUMBERLAND CHRISTMAS PARADE

12:30p – Arrive at Band Room
2:00p – Parade begins – we will enter the parade from the school property
3:00p – Estimated return to band room (we’ll be bussed back)
