Cumberland Bands Newsletter – 10/8/18

Hello amazing band people!

Please take the time to read this through.  There’s tons of new material for you this time.  Here we go…

==MARCHING BAND==

Here’s the schedule for the rest of the competitive season:

1. COMPETITION THIS SATURDAY, 10/13
@ Midlothian High School

Schedule
12:30pm – Be at the Cumberland Band Room
1:00pm – Depart for MHS
2:00pm – Arrive at MHS
3:30pm – Warm Up
4:15pm – Performance
10:30pm – Awards
11:00pm – Depart for Cumberland
12:00am – Arrive at Cumberland Band Room

Remember the following:

  1. Please bring enough food or money to be satisfied for the day.  We will not have a chance to eat prior to performance.  After the performance, there are concessions on site for the students to purchase.
  2. Return times are my best estimate.  I will use the Remind.com service to narrow down when we will actually arrive home.  I do genuinely believe it will be around the listed time.
  3. We will have some unloading to do when we arrive back home, so please allow your child the additional few minutes to ensure the equipment and uniforms are all put away and that the band room is classroom-ready for Monday.  Our usual rule: nobody leaves until everybody leaves

2. HOME GAME 10/19

3. WEEKEND OF 10/26-10/27, TWO EVENTS!

Be aware that even though students are currently not scheduled to have class on Friday, 10/26, we will both have a football game on that Friday and a competition on Saturday, 10/27.  Details to follow, but be aware that marching band students will be expected to be at both events.
