Cumberland Bands Newsletter – 8/20/2018

Method books have been shipped in.  Every 5th grade band member will need the red Tradition of Excellence book 1 beginning book.  For wind instruments, they are $11 each and for percussion they are $14.  These can be purchased through the CMS band, or you can get them from anywhere else you like.

Our first home game is this Friday, 8/24. Students will stay after school through the game.  Games usually end around 9:15 or so.  I will send out a text when we are leaving the stadium to head to the band room.

The marching members requested Subway subs for supper this time.  The cost per member is $5.25, due Wednesday, 8/22. we will submit the orders Wednesday afternoon.  Members not buying into the Subway supper will need to provide their own suppers. Everyone needs to eat before the game. NO EXCEPTIONS.

We need volunteers to supply chips and drinks. Please send them in by this Thursday.

Dress code for games until further notice will be the Cumberland Bands Polo, Jeans (unripped), and tennis shoes/ sneakers. Do not buy marching band shoes if you haven’t already done so. They will not be required until we are closer to getting proper uniforms.

Cumberland Band Polos should be tried on to check for fit. We may need to swap out shirts if they are in good condition to accommodate our growing students.

Parents, we’re getting bigger and bigger.  If you’re willing in any way to help the band booster program, then we’d love to have your talents.  Let me know!
