Cumberland Bands News – 8/14/18

Hello awesome band people!

The marching band is in full swing and classes are starting out strong!  Things to know:

INSTRUMENT NIGHT TONIGHT: If you’re a 5th grader, then here’s an awesome opportunity to acquire your instrument!  At least two different music stores will be coming out at 7pm to 8pm TODAY, Tuesday, August 14th, for the convenience of our people.  Please remember that I am available at any time to aid you in getting your child’s instrument.  Don’t forget they also need the Tradition of Excellence method book for their instrument.

BAND BOOSTERS: Booster meeting TODAY at 4:45pm at CMS/CHS cafeteria. All of you who expressed interest in being active should join us if you can.

MARCHING BAND: Several things here…

1. FRIDAY SCHEDULE IS CHANGING: On Fridays, practices will be ending at 5:15 to match the times that the athletic buses run on that day.  This does NOT apply to game days, where band members will be staying through to the game.
2. SNACKS:  We did such a great job providing snacks to the kids that we’ve been able to snack them every day after school up to this point.  We’re now beginning to run out of snacks.  If you could continue to donate these items, we can provide a bit of food for the kids at every practice.  Thanks!!!
3. The first home game is Friday, August 24th.  The winds and percussion will be wearing their concert polos and jeans.  Color guard TBA.
4. I will need parental supervision help on this day.  Please let me know if you can be there throughout the game.
