Cumberland Bands News – 5/5/18

Hello Awesome Band People!

We’re winding down to the end of another amazing year!  Now, we have plenty to work on for the exciting program coming for next year!  Here’s what’s going on now:

== WE’RE SELLING DONUTS! ==

We’re on a quick blitz to sell Krispy Kreme donuts.  Your children have been sent home order forms and instructions.  If you have any questions, let me know (info below).  Here are the return dates:

5th/6th grade – I need all orders by Wednesday, May 9th.
7th/8th/HS – I need all orders by the morning of Thursday, May 10th (during our combined class)

I will be out of the office on Friday, May 11, so please make sure I have all orders in-hand by Thursday, May 10th.

DELIVERY DATE: Monday, May 14th!!!

Please be prepared to deliver the donuts on this day to provide a fresh product to our customers.

== GRADUATION, FRIDAY, MAY 18th ==

All band class students from 7th grade, 8th grade, and HS will be playing for graduation on this date in a required performance.  The students will stay after school and have responsibilities all the way until graduation begins at 7:pm.  I will feed them supper.  Students need to wear nice clothes: shirt/tie, dresses, etc.  Graduation usually lasts until about 9:pm.  I’ll text blast when it’s over.

== MARCHING BAND IN MAY ==

Due to scheduling issues, we are going to move the May marching band mini-camp until the following week.  All persons planning to march will need to join us after school on May 22-24 from 3pm-6pm.  There will be music, friends, and fun!

The 2018 Marching Band Color Guard auditions will be on May 15-16 after school from 3pm-6pm.  Any Cumberland MS/HS student who will be in 8th grade or higher next fall is welcome to audition.  Students who make the color guard will be expected to attend the mini-camp on the following week.

== SUMMER BAND CAMP ==

We’re going full-swing with the marching program in the fall, and will have a summer camp at CMS/CHS for a week to prepare the show.  This will occur sometime in July, and details will follow shortly.  Exciting!
