Cumberland Bands News – 3/26/18

Hello awesome band people!

Well, well, well, I have done something a bit silly.  For those of you who may not know, I live in Powhatan and my daughters attend that school system.  Additionally, my daughters are in the PMS band programs.  Therefore, just like most of you are on the Cumberland Bands class of Remind.com, I am on the PMS Bands class of Remind.com as a parent.

Now, when many of you filled out the permission slips last month and requested to be added, I went into my Remind.com account (which is attached to my cell #) and added you to Remind.  What I did not know was that, as a parent, I am apparently able to add anyone to the PMS Bands list, as well.  Sooooo, guess what I accidentally did…

Right, I instead added all of the new folks to the PMS Bands list.  So sorry if you’ve been hearing about what my daughters have been doing. 🙂

Today I put everyone in the correct list, but I do not have the power to remove you from the other one since it isn’t my list.  The problem is that a few of you, once you realized what was going on, blocked the entire Remind.com site from sending you anything, so I cannot sign you up.  This is one of the reasons I’m sending this letter home by paper, as well.  If this sounds like you, and you didn’t get a text/email to view this letter online, then you’ll have to go and add yourself via Remind.com.  Text me and I can help you with this.

Also, if you aren’t on Remind.com and want to be, then text me directly (cell # below) and I’ll get you put right on… in the correct class, I promise. 🙂

Now, on to business…

== WINTER GUARD COMPETITION RESULTS ==

Congratulations to the Cumberland Winter Guard for their first high school level competition on the 17th.  This was the last ‘beta’ year for the guard, and starting next year the Winter Guard will commence a full competitive season.  Impressive that they were able to compete on level with the other high school guards, and they came in 11 of 12 in the class.

We are looking to have one additional in-house performance, so we will be having some short practices in April.  More details to come.
