Cumberland Bands News – 3/16/18

Hey everyone!

I know this newsletter is past due, so forgive me.  I hope you’re enjoying all the seasons the Virginia has to offer!

==ASSESSMENT RESULTS: AWESOME!==

Congratulations to the CMS Sixth Grade Concert Band: STRAIGHT SUPERIOR RATINGS!!!  They received the highest marks a band can receive.

Congratulations to the CMS Advanced Band who received an admirable mix of Superior and Excellent ratings!!!

== WINTER GUARD COMPETITION SAT 3/17/18==

We will have a final practice Saturday morning at CMS.  Bring your own lunch to eat in transit.  There will be concessions at the event, so either bring money or bring your own food for supper.  We leave for Atlee HS @ 12:30pm.  If there are any parents wishing to ride with us as chaperone, just let me know.

9:00am – Practice begins in the CMS gym
12:00noon – prepare for departure, load buses
12:30 – Depart for Atlee HS
2:00pm – Arrive at Atlee HS
3:27pm – Cumberland Winter Guard Performs
5:30pm – Class awards
9:30pm – All performances complete, load the buses
10:00pm – Depart for Cumberland
11:30pm – Arrive at CMS/CHS Band Room

Return times are estimates.  The director will text via Remind.com when departing the event to provide a more accurate return time.

== SPRING CONCERTS ==

All band class students, 5th grade through HS, will have a graded spring concert performance. 5th and 6th grade will be on April 12th, and 7th-HS will be on April 17th.  Details forthcoming, but the schedules will be similar to the winter concerts.

== GRADUATION MAY 18, 2018 ==

All band class students from 7th grade, 8th grade, and HS will be playing for graduation on this date in a required performance.  Please plan accordingly.  Details to follow.
