Cumberland Bands News – 11/1/17

Happy November, awesome band folks!!!

The past weekend was full of band excellence!  The marching band outscored five high school bands in their class to take 3rd place at the Powhatan Fall Classic last Saturday.  Also, the Harvest Dinner Theatre was a smashing hit, and I hope you can join us again next year.

===FRIDAY, NOV 3, GAME DAY!!! ALSO 6TH GRADE IS INVITED!!!

This Friday, November 3, is the last home varsity football game.  We’ll be having DJ music of some sort for the tailgate party.

Since there is no school that day, here is the schedule:

3pm – Marching band arrives at the Cumberland Band Room at 3pm
4pm – 6th graders choosing to join us are asked to arrive at this time
6:30pm – We all go to the field for the game
9:30pm – this is the estimated time to pick up your child (game ending times vary)

While it’s optional for 6th graders, all current 6th grade band members are invited, and can join in to experience a day of marching band.  Bring money enough to get the food you would like to eat from concessions, and bring plenty of warm clothes, as it will be a cool evening after the sun sets.  I WILL NEED PARENT CHAPERONES TO MAKE THIS WORK, so please volunteer to help with the 6th grade band day on November 3rd.

===COOKIE DOUGH – DELIVERY THURSDAY, NOV 2nd!!!

Cookie dough will be delivered on Thursday, November 2nd.  You can pick up from 2pm – 4pm from the band room.  If your child ordered more than a few items, then you’ll likely need to come and pick up their order.  Small orders of just a few items can ride home on the bus.

Because some items are frozen or refrigerated, please make sure all items are delivered on the 2nd.
