Ahoy!  Even MORE news!

===FRIDAY, NOV 3, GAME DAY!!! ALSO 6TH GRADE IS INVITED!

Next Friday, November 3, is the last home varsity football game.  We’ll be having DJ music of some sort for the tailgate party.

Since there is no school that day, the marching band will need to arrive at 3pm in preparation for the last game.

ALSO, this is going to be the evening that the 6th grade band is invited to perform in the stands with us during the game!  All current 6th grade band members are invited, and will join in to experience a day of marching band.  I will be sending details home to 6th grade parents early next week.  I WILL NEED PARENT CHAPERONES TO MAKE THIS WORK, so please volunteer to help with the 6th grade band day on November 3rd.

===COOKIE DOUGH!!!

Cookie dough will be delivered on Thursday, November 2nd.  You can pick up from 2pm – 4pm..  If your child ordered more than a few items, then you’ll likely need to come and pick up their order.  Small orders of just a few items can ride home on the bus.

Because some items are frozen or refrigerated, please make sure all items are delivered on the 2nd.

===DINNER THEATRE UPDATE – I STILL HAVE SOME TICKETS LEFT

I still have a small amount of tickets left.  Let me know if you need any.

The kids are doing great, and it’s shaping up to be a wonderful show!

===MARCHING BAND COMPETITION SCHEDULE @ POWHATAN ON 10/28

This Saturday, the marching band will be going to Powhatan for their last competition of the season.  Below is the schedule for the day.  The students wanted to stay through the whole show, so return is a little later than last year.  If your child would like to be picked up from the event earlier than scheduled, then just let me know ahead of time so I can plan for it.

We will be changing into uniform here in Cumberland, then boarding the bus to Powhatan HS.  Please bring enough food or money to be satisfied for the day.  Please bring enough proper clothes to change into to enjoy the evening.  Please note that it will cool down quite a bit before we depart.

9am – Be at the Cumberland Band Room
9:30am – Depart for PHS
10am – Arrive at PHS
10:30am – Warm Up
11:15am – Performance
4:25pm – First Half Awards
9:45pm – Last competing band is done – Load the Bus!
10:15pm – Depart for Cumberland
10:45pm – Arrive at Cumberland Band Room

Remember the following:

1. Please bring enough food or money to be satisfied for the day.  We will not have a chance to eat prior to performance.  After the performance, there are concessions on site for the students to purchase.
2. Return times are my best estimate.  I will use the Remind.com service to narrow down when we will actually arrive home.  I do genuinely believe it will be around the listed time.
3. We will have some unloading to do when we arrive back home, so please allow your child the additional few minutes to ensure the equipment and uniforms are all put away and that the band room is classroom-ready for Monday.  Our usual rule: nobody leaves until everybody leaves.
