Cumberland Bands News – 8/24/2016

Hello awesome band folks!

A couple of quick notes:

1. If you are on the Cumberland Bands web site (and if you’re reading this, then you are), please note the new calendars that are posted to the right.  The rehearsal and events calendars are posted for the 2016-2017 school year.  You can see the nearest upcoming items right on the page, or you can click through to the full Google calendar to look through.Note that as the year goes on, it’s possible we may add more groups and items.  I’ll be sure to note in the newsletters when the calendar has been updated.
2. For the 2016 Marching Band, our first game is this Friday, August 26th.  Our goal for this week is to successfully provide sideline music for the game.  For the first two games, we will be performing in jeans and band t-shirts (I am providing the t-shirts).  Please send at least $5 for food from the concessions stand for your child, or feel free to send any food you would like for them to eat.  We will break around 5pm to go get food.While kickoff is at 7:pm, it’s difficult to determine when a game will end.  I recommend you plan to pick up your child from the band room around 9:30 pm.  Students will need to get into the band room, put all the equipment away, and will then be dismissed for the evening.
3.  Parents, we now have a booster organization!  The newly organized group would love to have you meet with them at 5pm on this Friday, August 26th, before the game.  Our program is growing quickly and we’d love to have you be a part of it!  Come join us!
